APIA WSL 1st and RESERVE GRADE FALL AT FINAL HURDLE.

September 4, 2016

It was a bleary day at Grand Final venue Valentine Sports Park on Sunday with gail force winds and torrential rain causing mayhem on Grand Final day and the bad weather was just part of the bad day for the club. Reserve Grade fought back from going a goal down after only 7mins to equalise via a Bojana Poletanovic goal early in the second half to set up a tense finish. Both sides couldn't break the deadlock in normal time but it was the Premiers, the Gladesville Ravens who scored the all important opening goal in extra time to take a 2-1 lead. Unfortunately for our Tigers, we couldn't find another equaliser and for the second consecutive season our Reserve Grade team fell victim to a Grand Final defeat.
