APIA Leichhardt Tigers Football Club holds the record for the most number of Socceroos and National Team Captains than any other football club in Australia.
In 2008 the club continued with its magnificent tradition and history of developing players, with a record 5 players been selected in the A-League for the 2008-2009 season. Who will be the next Cub/Tigress to emerge from the Tigers den?
It is this dedication, commitment and professionalism the club will extend to the Women’s and Girls League.
The club will be soon announcing details of the proposed Player Development Academy Program for the girls headed by the Program Director Alicia Cavanagh. The aim of the program is to nurture and develop our young players and attract future talented players by providing them with the required expertise and resources to help guide them through the pathway.
In 2009 the club will be participating in competitions sanctioned by Football NSW at all levels of Football for Women & Girls, Men & Boys under the playing name of Sydney Tigers. |
