The Under 10/1a experienced a fantastic season leading from the front, playing a terrific brand of football, undefeated minor premiers, comprehensively dominating the league. Tremendous season was demonstrated by our 11-1As team, going through the season cruising at the top of the table and completing the double by winning the grand Final and represented CDSFA in the Champions of Champions. The team had abundance of talented young players whom demonstrated willingness to learn and improve, yet on the same token echoed sportsmanship towards all teams they came across. Under 12/1a Team Members Squad : Dominc Breckenridge, George Diaz, Benji Purdy, Christos Terizis (c), Lachlan Rovers, Dane Ivanovic, Dario Travia, Emerson Synos, Luke Browning, Julian Robertson, Panos Armenakas, James McNicoll, Jonathan Dimopoulos, Tommy Wilson, Gian Mendez, Head Coach: Gabriel Mendez Under 16/1a Win Champions of Champions Congratulations and well done to the Under 16/1a for winning the Champions of Champions grand final, 3 : 2 on a penalty shoot out. Canterbury Association APIA Leichhardt Tigers proved victors in what was a thrilling Grade 16 Champion of Champions match against Southern Districts' AC United after winning 3-2 on penalty shoot-outs. With the scores still locked at 2-2 the game went into penalty shoot-outs which the Tigers took out 3-2 to lift the Grade 16 Champion of Champions title for 2009 which is the last to be held at Valentine Sports field. unders 12's win 2009 state cup - Please Click Here The Under 12/1a entered the competition along with 32 other teams in their age group and successfully won the final 2-0 against Glossodia from the Penrith/Nepean District. There were many good Under 12 teams in this competition including Sydney United, West Pymble and Fairfield Colts which all reached the quarter final rounds of the competition. The strength & depth of the squad , leadership and management all contributed to a tremendous team effort in winning the State Cup. Coaching was led by Gabriel Mendez, & team management by Keith Rovers and Jan Breckenridge. This is a great result for the club and a tribute to the teams discipline and commitment. Congratulations to the team. Leichhardt Tigers awarded Player of Tournament at Kanga Cup Congratulaions to Soroush Zand from the Tigers U10/1b team for being awarded player of the tournament at the 2009 McDonald's Kanga Cup in Canberra. Out of more than 180 players, Soroush Zand won Player of the Tournament in the U10 Boys Cup competition. He proudly received his trophy from the ACT Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation. His award is a credit to the entire Kanga Cup team who played courageously and with dedication. The team reached the semi-finals of the competition. Well done to all players who proudly represented the Canterbury District in Canberra.
